Join our Team of Drivers!

At Stevens, a driver must know more than how to drive a truck. Driving is the easy part of this career. A household goods driver for one of the Stevens' fleets must have skills in customer relations, business development, and managing time and money. We require absolute honesty, integrity and the desire to be the best in the field. A Sharp professional appearance is a strong plus in this job, because it sets the customer's mind at ease knowing they have hired true professionals to manage their move.

Stevens Van Lines enjoys a solid relationship with the Department of Defense and over 50% of our business is through them. What does this mean to you? It means that you will be hauling shipments that are paying at a level that is currently in excess of that paid on most national accounts and C.O.D. shipments. In March 2003, the average DOD order was hauled at an effective discount of 53.1% off of the current 400N tariff with some paying at an actual 34% effective discount. This business means better paying loads and more consistant tonnage throughout the year.

As a Stevens Owner Operator, you set your hours, the loads you accept and how the move is accomplished. Being an independent businessperson is not for everyone. You're on your own in terms of work habits, paperwork and the many details required on each job. Your individual initiative in packing, loading, driving, unloading, operating your equipment and fulfilling your pick-up and delivery dates on time, while staying within the requirements of the DOT hours of service regulations is crucial to your financial success. Stevens is here to help you succeed in every way possible but the final determiner of your success is you.
