Personal Requirements
Stevens requires high industry standards of its
driver force. These include:
- A neat, clean professional appearance
- Two years OTR and verifiable household goods experience, either as a company
driver, owner/operator or a helper
- At least 23 years of age at time of acceptance by Stevens
- Ability to pass a DOT physical and a Stevens drug screen
- No more than two moving violations in the past 12 months
- No DUI/DWI convictions within the past 3 years (5 years if commercial vehicle
involved)
- No felony convictions within the past 5 years
- Successfully pass road test
- Successfully complete Department of Defense workbook
- Successfully complete computer based initial training/orientation course
Start Up Requirements
- $3000.00 claims and equipment reserve (accumulated at $200/month)*
- #300 per month tractor repair reserve required for lease purchase (to be
used for tractor repairs or returned to driver at end of lease purchase period)*
*Required serves and the base plate purchase are accumulated over a period
of months and are not direct out-of-pocket expenses to the driver. All required
deposit reserves (except IRS deposits) are paid interest at 5% annum.
Other Requirements
- $150 cargo claims chargeback except for gross negligence, lost or missing
items
- All drivers must wear anauthorized Stevens uniform when on company business
